Privacy policy

Effective November 2, 2026

This policy covers this website. It explains what we collect when you visit or write to us here, why, and who else handles it. Information you share once you become a client is covered by your engagement letter and by the confidentiality rules that apply to CPAs.

What we collect

When you send the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and your message, plus your company and phone number if you choose to add them. We use these only to answer you and, if you ask, to talk about working together.

Like most websites, the servers that host this site keep short-lived technical records of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. For each page view it records the page, the site that sent you, your general location, and your browser, operating system and device type. It sets no cookies and does not identify you: Vercel tells visits apart with a code made from the request and discards it after 24 hours, so visits can't be linked to you or followed across other sites.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information.

Please don't send sensitive documents through the form

The contact form is for getting in touch. Please don't include Social Security numbers, bank details or tax documents in your message. Once we're working together, Dave will set up a secure way to exchange those.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers to run the site, and each sees only what it needs:

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Client information

Once you're a client, what you share with us is held to a stricter standard than this policy. Dave follows the confidentiality rules that apply to licensed CPAs. Information you give us to prepare a tax return is used only for that work, and is not used or disclosed for anything else without your written consent unless the law allows it, as Section 7216 of the Internal Revenue Code requires.

How long we keep it

Your message stays in Dave's email so he can follow up. If you don't become a client and would like it deleted, just ask.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address below and we'll reply.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
